Stained glass Window Crafting Brings Fresh Perspective To Bedbound Residents
12 April 2021

Kind-hearted Colleagues at Haydale Care Home have created stunning stained-glass windows for Residents confined to bed.
The team wanted to do an activity for Residents who don’t leave their bedrooms due to mobility challenges that would be inclusive.
The first window was time-consuming as the newbie creatives learned how to achieve the colourful effects.
However, Activities Co-ordinator Isabel Cummings said that the rest were more straightforward after they’d cracked window one.
Isabel said: “It was a fascinating craft to learn, and it was lovely to do something which involved Residents who need to remain in bed.
“The finished results have been very pleasing, and the Residents love them.
“One lady told me that the stained-glass window brightens up her room because of all the colours it creates when the sunshine hits it.
“It’s given them all a new perspective.”
