Advinia Homes Post Moving #StarsInMemory Pictures For Lost Loved Ones
19 May 2020

Residents across nine Advinia Homes have displayed star-shaped tributes in their windows to recognise the impact loss and bereavement on people during COVID-19.
The National Care Forum launched the initiative to help people who’ve experienced the death of a loved one during the pandemic to express their personal sorrow.
They asked participants to create their own stars and then place them in the windows of Care Homes and to post photographs on social media using the #StarsInMemory hashtag.
Residents and Colleagues at Advinia Homes including Newcarron, Roseacres, Goldielea, Longwood Grange, Bedford, Norwood, West Ridings, Madeira House and Ryland View all took part.
Wellbeing and Engagement Lead George Dewis said that the creative initiative was a great idea.
George said: “There were some wonderful stars on display at Advinia Homes and I know the Residents had fun making them.
“It meant a lot to them to pay tribute to their lost loved ones and to recognise the collective grief we are all feeling in this simple way.
“We were delighted to see so many homes take part in the National Care Forum initiative and to see their beautiful stars on display.”
