Sunshine, Singing & Smiles: A Joyous Garden Party at Hill View’s Uladh House

The sun was shining, spirits were high, and laughter echoed through the grounds of Hill View Care Home as Uladh House hosted a spectacular Garden Party on Wednesday 10th April. Residents, staff, families, and friends came together in Uladh’s beautiful garden for an afternoon filled with joy, music, delicious food, and togetherness.
Organised by the dedicated Uladh staff and activity coordinators, the garden was transformed into a festive retreat. A marquee provided some much-needed shade, while colourful decorations and a vibrant playlist created a truly celebratory atmosphere.
Residents clapped and sang along to a fantastic mix of music from the 1950s through to the 1990s. A stand-out moment was when one resident requested Neil Diamond’s classic “Sweet Caroline”, sparking a lively singalong that had everyone on their feet. When “We Are Family” came on, it turned into a full-on dance party, perfectly capturing the spirit of unity and joy.
The Hill View kitchen team truly outdid themselves with a mouth-watering spread. Guests enjoyed pizza, a variety of flavoured chicken, sausage rolls, samosas, and even a few glasses of wine—all of which were thoroughly enjoyed, with many going back for seconds.
“This is brilliant,” one family member said with a huge smile. Another added, “It’s so nice to be out in the sunshine.”
One resident, beaming as bubbles floated around her, simply said, “I love this.”
The event wasn’t just about entertainment—it had a deeply positive impact on residents’ wellbeing. Being out in the fresh air, surrounded by familiar faces and new friends, gave everyone a chance to relax, socialise, and make lasting memories.
