Craigbank Resident Throws Surprise 70th Birthday Party For Daughter

Resident Jane Dixon managed to pull off a wonderful surprise this spring by throwing a birthday tea party for her stunned daughter.

Her daughter Jo arrived for a visit, only to find a special tea party all laid out in her honour.

Jane had asked Activities Co-ordinator Karen Gangiel to help her get everything ready to surprise Jo, who had no idea what was in store.

There were tears of joy when Jo saw the trouble that Jane and the team had gone to. Mother and daughter then enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea together.

According to Karen, it was a wonderful afternoon for all.

Karen said: “It was so lovely to see Jo completely blown away by Jane’s surprise.

“It was an emotional moment, and it was tough for all of us to keep our composure.

“As well as the afternoon tea, Jane had organised presents and a card for Jo, plus balloons.

“Turning 70 is a big deal, and we were glad we could help Jane give Jo a celebration to remember.”
