Ukuladies Bring Joyful Harmony to Bishops Cleeve Care Home
29 April 2024
Bishops Cleeve Care Home was treated to a musical extravaganza like no other this month, courtesy of the delightful Ukuladies who brought their unique blend of talent and charm to captivate the audience. Dressed impeccably in smart matching outfits, the Ukuladies took the stage with their array of ukuleles, each showcasing their remarkable skill and versatility on the strings. From classic hits by ELO and The Beatles to toe-tapping jazz tunes, their repertoire spanned across genres, ensuring there was something for everyone to enjoy.
As the melodies filled the air, the atmosphere in the room was electric, with residents, staff, and friends and family alike joining in with enthusiastic clapping and even getting up to dance to the infectious rhythm of “The Locomotion.” “It was absolutely fabulous! They looked great and were all so very talented,” exclaimed one delighted resident.
Following the performance, the Ukuladies graciously stayed on to mingle with the residents, sharing stories and laughter over cups of tea. Their genuine warmth and connection with the audience left a lasting impression, with many expressing their eagerness to welcome them back. “We will definitely be seeing the Ukuladies again,” said the activity coordinator. “In fact, they’re already booked for our D-Day 80 Commemoration Afternoon!”
The visit of the Ukuladies not only brought joy and entertainment but also highlighted the importance of music in enhancing the well-being and spirit of the community at Bishops Cleeve Care Home.
