West Ridings Celebrates Valentine’s Day with Heartfelt Advice from Residents

Valentine’s Day at West Ridings care home took on a unique twist this year as residents shared their wisdom and advice on matters of the heart, sparking laughter and heartfelt moments among staff and fellow residents.

The day began with residents being asked to impart their advice on love and relationships. From practical tips to heartfelt sentiments, the responses were as varied as they were insightful. Words of wisdom such as “Find a man who can cook,” “Make sure you can live in the same house,” and “Look after your partner as much as you look after yourself,” echoed through the halls, eliciting smiles and nods of agreement.

Each piece of advice was carefully transcribed onto large love hearts, which residents then adorned with colourful love heart stickers, adding a touch of whimsy and creativity to their heartfelt words.

The atmosphere buzzed with laughter and camaraderie as residents shared their stories and reflections on love, relationships, and the enduring bonds that bring joy and fulfilment. Following the exchange of advice, staff and residents were treated to a special surprise from the activities coordinator: handcrafted single red roses. Symbolising love, appreciation, and connection, the roses served as a tangible reminder of the bond shared among everyone at West Ridings.
