Woodfield Grange Care Home Goes Green for a Joyful St Patrick’s Day Celebration
16 April 2025

Residents and staff at Woodfield embraced the spirit of St Patrick’s Day with a fun-filled celebration that brought music, laughter, and a touch of green to the home.

The festivities were led by Emma from Music Moments, whose live performance had the whole room smiling. Irish flags and balloons adorned the home, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere, while the kitchen team prepared a special meal topped off with a selection of puddings served with green custard – a playful treat that proved to be a hit with everyone.

Resident JM shared, “I loved Emma’s voice and enjoyed watching everyone dance,” while MB, after watching videos of herself joining in on the fun, beamed and said she “really enjoyed it.”
For resident KB, the day held personal meaning. “I am from Co Derry and love to celebrate St Patrick’s Day,” she said. “I really enjoyed the Irish songs and joining in.” KB moved from Ireland to Yorkshire at 18 after marrying her husband, who was in the army. To this day, she still speaks with a proud Irish accent.

The event was a heartwarming celebration of culture, community, and connection – a true reminder of the joy that shared traditions bring to life at Woodfield.
