Woodstock Care Home Embraces Elf Day to Spread Joy and Raise Funds for Alzheimer’s Society

19 December 2023

On December 6, 2023, people nationwide united in the festive spirit, donning elf costumes to raise both funds and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Society. At Woodstock Care Home, the staff took the celebration to the next level, immersing themselves in the holiday cheer and spreading joy among residents.

Throughout December, Woodstock Care Home staff have been donning Christmas tops daily, creating a festive ambiance to uplift spirits. However, Elf Day marked a special occasion where the staff went above and beyond, donning full elf costumes.

Adding a whimsical touch to the day, the team used the Elf Name Generator, creating elf identities based on the first letter of their names and birth months. The result was a delightful array of monikers such as Frosty Twinkleton, Jingles Frostington, and Marshmallow Winterville. The staff proudly wore name tags, embracing the festive personas with enthusiasm.

The highlight of the day was the Elfie Selfies, capturing moments of joy and laughter shared between staff and residents. The visual mementos served as a heartwarming testament to the sense of community and joy that Elf Day brought to Woodstock Care Home.

To sweeten the day even further, the care home’s manager, Mari, showcased her baking talents through “Mari’s Bakes.” A box of delectable cupcakes, adorned with festive decorations, was made available for residents, staff, and visitors alike, with all donations going directly to the Alzheimer’s Society. The cupcakes not only satisfied sweet cravings but also contributed to the collective effort of supporting a meaningful cause.

Woodstock Activity Coordinators expressed their gratitude, saying, “Elf Day is a special time for us to come together, have fun, and make a positive impact. The joy on our residents’ faces is priceless, and we are proud to contribute to the important work of the Alzheimer’s Society.”
